A father's day lesson .

Based on truth story.

Back then, I accidentally read this, it's about Thomas S. Vander Woude . .

well basically it happened like a while back ago .

That morning was like most mornings for Thomas, a former airline pilot who in retirement . kept a farm in Virginia .  While Thomas was working at his farm, Josie, his youngest son was off in a different part of the yard . and suddenly Josie had slid in into the tank . Thomas rushed to the hole which measured two square feet.
From a distance, saw his son fall, he understood right away that Josie was in mortal anger . By then, without thinking about his life, Thomas had lowered into the tank . attempt to keep Josie head above the water line but Josie was still sinking, so Thomas made a decision , he would hold his breath, dive under the sewage and lift Josie onto his shoulder . When rescuers finally arrived,  they pulled Josie out of the tank but too bad, Thomas , 66 years old was dead .

The hellishness of his final moment gives the story a kind of ghastly power . But there is also something opposite,  an intimation of nobility and a lesson about living.

I do really understood the story of Thomas, death through prism of fatherhood . I tell myself as I imagine most fathers do, would make any sacrifice ,suffer any hardship or humiliation or pain for their children .
A fathers always puts other ahead for himself  .
